Blessed with predominantly warm and sunny weather, the festival attracted a record number of walkers this year. Over the course of the week, 34 walks were offered. On the final day alone, there was a selection of four diverse routes (tailored to all abilities) to choose from -  a gentle 4-mile meander, plus two moderate challenges of 6.5 and 8 miles, and an 11-mile strenuous hike.

 

The final day was designed to showcase the variety and beauty of our Mole Valley area. All the walks converged seamlessly at Holmbury St Mary Village Hall, where a celebratory gathering awaited. This joyful conclusion featured not only the traditional presentation of awards and certificates but also delightful entertainment. MVR’s own John Peppard provided a musical treat, and the Thames Valley Morris dancers added a lively and colourful flourish to the festivities.

 

During the festival, this year’s walkers collectively covered an impressive 3,413 miles, crossing the Mole Valley District Council boundary 1,800 times—a testament to both the scale and spirit of the event.
