Mole Valley Ramblers

- friendly walking in the heart of Surrey

Our first BtB walk took place on Wed, 29 Jan when 28 walkers set out from Headley Heath in glorious sunshine.

Joan, our Chairman, was there to mark the occasion and wish the walkers well. Fiona was on hand to issue "willow wands" to those wishing to deploy them each time our route crossed the Mole Valley district boundary and others captured the important moments for posterity - see their photos below.

Pauline and Jan expertly led the group out via Walton-on-the-Hill, Langley Vale, Ashtead Park, then via Ashtead Common to end the walk at The Star pub, Malden Rushett where some lingered for refreshment. Our thanks go to Pauline and Jan for organising the event and to the volunteer drivers who reunited walkers with their cars left at Headley. An enjoyable time was had by all.

The full programme of Beating the Bounds walks can be seen here, so please make a note of the dates and we hope you will be inspired to join us on future sections.

Willow wands anyone? Boundary beating near Headley Willow wands served as water diviners too!
